Up for sale, a 2009 Gibson ES-335 semi-hollowbody electric guitar in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with a satin Cherry nitro lacquer finish and original hardshell case. This ES-335 replicates the essential features of Gibson's early "dot neck" 335 with "Mickey Mouse ear" rounded body horns, gleaming chrome hardware, and a traditional 1 11/16" nut width on a slim taper '60s-style neck profile. Outfitted with the stock pair of '57 Classic PAF humbuckers, the guitar delivers a harmonic complexity, midrange sweetness, and top end clarity characteristic of the model. Strummed acoustically, this ES-335 offers the note attack and percussive cut of maple paired with the airy, smooth qualities of the semi-hollowbody construction, and this full, dynamic acoustic tone translates well through the pickups. The neck pickup has a detailed and round sound, while the bridge position humbucker has good body and smooth growl when pushed hard while retaining a chiming treble range, all with the singing sustain afforded a great Gibson. The guitar weighs 7lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action, solid intonation, and fresh 10-46 strings. The one-piece mahogany neck has a slender C profile carve with a particularly thick rosewood fretboard and lightly rolled edges. The profile has round, inviting shoulders, measuring .815" deep at the 1st fret and .900" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features dot inlay and factory fretwire which has its full factory height, vintage-spec width, and flawless crowns. The neck is straight, the truss rod is ideally adjusted, and the guitar plays effortlessly in every register. The headstock sports a pearloid Gibson logo and classic crown inlay, as well as a set of original Gibson Deluxe double line bolt bushing tuners with greened tulip buttons. On the body, all of the original electronics work as they should, with the '57 Classic PAF humbuckers wired to a three-way pickup selector and individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup, capped with black bonnet knobs. Hardware includes the Nashville bridge and corresponding stopbar, and all plastics and hardware are clean as can be save for light pick scuffing across the guard. The orange oval Gibson USA label is visible through the F hole with a hand-written serial number that matches the number imprinted on the headstock. The rich Cherry satin nitro lacquer finish is showroom clean, exhibiting just one tiny finish scuff in the top coat of the satin finish on the bass-side lower bout on the back. The neck profile is flawless. The original black tolex Gibson USA hardshell case is included.
