Up for sale, a 2009 G&L Tribute L-2000 electric bass guitar in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag. As the third instrument company founded by Leo Fender, G&L's instruments benefit from Leo's decades of experience at Music Man and (of course) Fender. Made in Japan, this higher-tiered Tribute Series model was exclusive to the Japanese domestic market (later rebranded as the Premium series), not to be confused with the myriad of Tribute series models produced elsewhere. This exceptionally well-crafted instrument easily rivals USA production, complete with G&L USA pickups and bridge.

The foundation of the L-2000 is a two-piece ash body and one-piece maple neck, and this tonewood complement ensures an articulate, powerful natural response with ideal top end detail, rich midrange character, and plenty of low end heft. At the heart of the L-2000 is a pair of G&L's Magnetic Field Design humbuckers backed by the flexible Tri-Tone control system. The Tri-Tone system features a trio of mini toggles for pickup selection, series/parallel signal routing and active/passive operation, as well as a trio of knobs for Volume, Treble and Bass. This G&L weighs 10lbs, professionally setup with 50-105 roundwound strings here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a substantial C-shaped profile carve with moderate shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .875" deep at the 1st fret and .990" at the 12th. The original medium jumbo fretwire is pristine, with its full factory height and well-rounded crowns. Notes ring out clearly up the 34" scale, and the nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width. The headstock features lightweight clover button tuners which turn smoothly and hold pitch well.

All of the electronics function as intended, and the chrome plating on the hardware shines like new. The Leo Fender-designed Saddle-Lock bridge transfers string energy right into the body end-grain for an incredibly resonant instrument, complete with chrome-plated brass saddles. The Natural gloss finish is extremely well preserved, exhibiting just a couple stray minuscule scratches and marks on the treble side lower bout body edge. The satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original G&L gigbag is included.
