Up for sale, a 2009 Fender Stratocaster ‘62 vintage reissue model ST62-TX in near-mint, 100% original condition, finished in custom color Rebel Yellow. This upper-tiered “Made in Japan” model was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and is uncommon outside of its country of origin, featuring a trio of USA-made Fender Texas Special single coil pickups.
Weighing 7lbs 13oz, tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and a slab rosewood fretboard. The Fender Texas Special single coils match vintage spec with black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and staggered alnico magnets, delivering a bevy of sparkling classic Strat tonalities with a slightly aggressive overwound snap. The bridge pickup is bold and chewy, and the neck has a full, bell-like quality. This ST62-TX benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple (birdseye & flame)
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .845” 1st fret, .950” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, vintage-spec 7 1/4” radius
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 1/2”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” T-prefix
Body Specs:
-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: Texas Special single coil x3 (USA-made)
-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, five-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Synchronized Tremolo, jack cup
-Plastics: Three-ply white pickguard, cream knobs/pickup covers/switch tip
The Rebel Yellow gloss finish presents very cleanly, with barely a mark on the body. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless, highlighting subtle birdseye and flame figuring along the profile length.
The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
