Up for sale, a 2009 Fender Stratocaster ‘62 vintage reissue model ST62 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This “Made in Japan” Stratocaster was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and is uncommon outside of its country of origin, featuring a gloss custom color Old Lake Placid Blue finish.
This Strat features a basswood body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fretboard, offering a balanced natural acoustic quality, weighing 7lbs 12oz. The ST-Single ceramic magnet single coil pickups have more punch and cut than alnico magnet varieties, with a sparkling snap in the bridge position, a fat, authoritative quality at the neck, and hollow quack at the “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector switch. This ST62 Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Slender C, measuring .815” 1st fret, .920” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, vintage-spec 7 1/4” radius
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 1/2”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Serialization: “Made in Japan,” T-prefix
Body Specs:
-Wood: Basswood
-Pickups: ST-Single (ceramic) single coil x3
-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, Five-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Synchronized Tremolo, jack cup
-Plastics: Three-ply parchment pickguard, cream knobs/pickup covers
The finish is classified by Fender Japan as “Old Lake Placid Blue,” denoting a more vintage-accurate and icy hue of this classic custom color. There are a few small dings and one finish chip along the lower bout perimeter, some pinhead-sized dings on top, and a few finish scratches on the back (well shy of “buckle rash”). The ambered gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.
A gigbag is included.
