Up for sale, a 2009 Fender Jazz Bass JB62-ALLBLK J-Craft series "All Black" bass in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A "Made in Japan" exclusive model not designed for export, this Jazz Bass is visually unique, flaunting a sleek Black gloss finish with matching neck profile and headstock face. The bass features a basswood body, maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fretboard, yielding a balanced, smooth tonal platform for the stock pair of single coil Hot Rod pickups. The Hot Rods have slightly larger pole pieces than traditional Jazz Bass pickups, still delivering an articulate top end and sweet, pronounced midrange cut, with a bit more boldness and low end push. Whether you want the more present bark and burp of the bridge pickup or the smoother, wider sounds of the neck, this Jazz Bass covers a wide sonic spectrum. The bass weighs 8lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-105 roundwound strings, comfortable action and accurate intonation. The maple neck has a slender C shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .825" at the 1st fret and .980" at the 12th. On the thick slab rosewood fretboard, the slender fretwire shows sparingly little wear with well-rounded crowns, and the board has a 7 1/4" radius. The bass plays easily in every register with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length is a full 34", and the bone nut measures 1 1/2" in width. The matching black headstock features a gold metallic Fender logo and black chrome tuning machines with matching string guide. The clover button tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well. All of the electronics work as they should, with a Master Tone knob and individual Volume controls for each Hot Rod pickup. The original knobs are intact, and the plating on the bridge and neck plate shows notable patina. A testament to how little this bass has been played since new, the factory clear protective plastic is still present on the rear control cavity cover. This bass is both understated and unique in its cosmetic appearance, and comes stock in its simplicity without a pickguard. Cosmetic wear in the Black gloss finish is limited to light scuffing in the pick path and tiny marks in the finish on the lower bout on the back. The neck sports a pristine matching smooth gloss finish. A gigbag is included, complete with the original dated hangtag.
