Up for sale, a 2009 ESP Snapper AL/R in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and warranty card. Part of ESP’s Original series, this HSS Superstrat was finely crafted in Japan. Tonewoods include an alder body finished in metalflake Brass Blue, paired with a maple neck and thick slab 22 fret compound radius rosewood fretboard.

The alnico magnet single coils in the neck and middle position offer a bright, focused response with an RWRP middle pickup for hum-cancelling spank when both single coils are engaged. The CL-P humbucker at the bridge is full-sounding and commanding, with plenty of aggressive bite and rich midrange character. Weighing 8lbs 1oz, this Snapper has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders, measuring .835” deep at the 1st fret and .940” at the 12th. The slab 22 fret rosewood fretboard features pearloid dot inlay, a 240mm to 350mm compound radius (9.5"-13.75"), and stock medium jumbo fretwire. The frets are in exceptional condition with their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing virtually no wear. This guitar plays cleanly in every register up the 25 1/2” scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, easily accessible from the wheel at the neck heel. The bone nut measures 42mm (1.650”) in width. The headstock features chrome-plated Sperzel locking tuners which turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch even with liberal vibrato use.

On the body, the electronics function as they should with a five-way pickup selector switch, Master Volume and Tone controls, and the bridge pickup direct switch; a two way mini-toggle that offers bridge humbucker-only operation regardless of pickup selection on the five-way switch. Hardware includes the ESP Flicker III two-point vibrato, which still has gleaming chrome plating and is equally responsive for sharp flutters and deep dives, jumping back to the original pitch with ease. Plastics comprise the three-ply white pickguard, cream Strat-style knobs, and matching cream pickup covers.

Cosmetic wear on the gloss metalflake Brass Blue finish includes some pick scuffing extending beyond the guard, light buckle rash central to the waist on the back, a few small marks concentrated at the bass-side waist edge, and some additional scratches and dings in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is clean and smooth beyond one tiny nick behind fret 6 which doesn't distract the palm while fretting.

The original ESP hardshell case is included, along with the original Japanese warranty card.
