Up for sale, a 2009 B.C. Rich Mockingbird ST in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A remarkable value in terms of build quality, premium woods, tonal options, and top shelf hardware, the Mockingbird ST features neck-through construction with a AAA quilted maple top and thick slab genuine ebony fretboard. Grover Super Rotomatic tuners and a genuine USA-made Floyd Rose vibrato are standard fare on this model, as are Rockfield Mafia humbuckers.This guitar has a bright, authoritative acoustic character faithfully captured by the Rockfield Mafia pickups, remarkably versatile high-output humbuckers (9.6k ohms neck, 9.9k bridge) with ceramic magnet construction. The guitar boasts a ton of tonal versatility, with a five-way rotary Varitone switch, individual coil tap mini toggles for each humbucker, and a phase mini toggle too. From thick churning high gain to spanky, sparkling cleans, this Mockingbird covers significant tonal ground. Sustain is near endless given the neck through construction, and the guitar weighs a very manageable 8lbs 8oz. We've had this B.C. Rich professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with modest shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .815” deep at the 1st fret and .945” at the 12th. The thick slab ebony fretboard has a 12” radius with pearloid diamond inlay and flawless jumbo fretwire. This guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The locking nut measures 1 11/16” in width. On the headstock, the black Grover Rotomatic tuners feature the iconic stair-stepped buttons of the Imperial design, with an extremely smooth and reliable performance.On the body, the electronics all work as they should, and all of the stock knobs and switches are intact. The genuine USA-made Floyd Rose vibrato functions effortlessly for deep divebombs and sharp flutters, and the original screw-on arm is included. The control cavity cover still retains the factory protective film, indicative of the limited use this guitar has seen since new.The maple neck-through body is framed by mahogany wings and capped with a deeply-figured AAA quilted maple veneer highlighted by the gloss Orange Flame Burst finish. This is a remarkably well-kept instrument, with cosmetic wear limited to a scant few faint scratches and microscopic dings on the body as a whole.
