Up for sale, a 2008 Yamaha LL36 in 100% original condition, complete with a hardshell case. Expertly crafted in Japan as a top-tier iteration of Yamaha’s L Series of instruments, this LL36 features solid tonewoods used throughout and premium appointments including maple binding and heelcap, abalone rosette and top binding, snowflake inlays, a nitrocellulose lacquer finish, and Yamaha’s proprietary Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (A.R.E.) treatment.
Weighing 4lbs 12oz, tonewoods include a solid Engelmann spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, five-ply mahogany/rosewood neck, and an ebony fingerboard and bridge. The “original jumbo” body size boasts a shallower depth and larger lower bout than a standard dreadnought, producing a powerful and broad bass response with ample projection and the same piano-like clarity often attributed to Martin. Yamaha’s Acoustic Resonance Enhancement treatment uses precisely controlled temperature, humidity, and pressure to alter the wood on a subcellular level, effectively “aging” the wood to produce the responsiveness that is typically only afforded a genuine vintage instrument. This LL36 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and comfortable action.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Mahogany/rosewood (five-piece)
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .835” 1st fret, .920” 9th fret
-Fretboard: Ebony, abalone snowflake inlays
-Frets: Slender, moderate wear beneath the G and B strings on frets 1-4
-Scale Length: 25 9/16”
-Nut: 1 ¾”, bone
-Tuners: Gotoh
Body Specs:
-Wood: Engelmann spruce, Indian rosewood
-Bracing: X
-Bridge: Ebony with compensated bone saddle
-Marquetry: Multi-ply abalone rosette and binding
-Serialization: QO-prefix (2008)
The gloss nitro lacquer finish exhibits pickwear across the strum path and adjacent to the fretboard extension on the bass side, with minor dings and finish scratches on the body consistent with use. The satin on the neck profile is smooth and clean.
A hardshell case is included.
