Up for sale, a 2008 Tokai Love Rock model LS95Q in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A modern quilt top iteration of the LP Standard platform (which would become the LS100Q model when the price was raised by 5,000 yen in 2009), this guitar features Tokai's See Thru Dark Red finish, highlighting the bookmatched quilted maple figuring that extends across the top. Crafted in Japan, this Tokai offers the traditional tonewood combination of a solid maple cap and solid mahogany body paired with a mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard. The rich warmth of mahogany and snappy articulation of maple translate well through the stock pair of PAF-style MK2 humbuckers, with a range of defined, clear tonalities that have ample muscle. This Love Rock weighs 9lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action, accurate intonation, and 10-46 strings.

The mahogany neck has a round C-shaped profile carve, measuring .865” deep at the 1st fret and .920” at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features pearl trapezoid inlay and stock fretwire which retains its full factory height. The frets have plenty of meat and are just shy of medium jumbo, showing virtually no wear and playing cleanly in every register up the straight neck with an optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length is a full 24 3/4", and the nut measures 1 11/16" in width. The headstock features the classic open book shape, with gold script Love Rock text, pearloid Tokai inlay, and Kluson-style tuners with greened tulip buttons.

All of the electronics work as intended, with the classic LP control layout and individual Volume and Tone knobs for each humbucker with full-size 500k pots. The See-Thru Dark Red finish is an analogue for Gibson's Wine Red, highlighting the dimensional quilted figuring that extends liberally across the top. The nickel plating on the pickup covers and ABR-1 bridge shows a hint of surface patina, while the stopbar has bright chrome plating. Plastics include the aged cream pickup rings, single-ply pickguard, and quartet of amber bonnet knobs. Cosmetic wear includes some finish chips on the back lower bout body edge, and a few additional faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.
