Up for sale, a 2008 Jackson Stars Kelly model KE-TN02 LTD in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, finished in Cobalt Blue Swirl. A limited run Japanese domestic market model, the Jackson Stars instruments are the direct descendants of the Grover Jackson line, expertly crafted at the Chu Shin factory. This very rare Kelly features maple neck-through construction with alder body wings and a 24 fret ebony fretboard. A top-tier Jackson in every respect, this Kelly is loaded with USA Seymour Duncan humbuckers from the factory along with a genuine Floyd Rose tremolo. The Seymour Duncan SH-1 neck position humbucker was designed in the spirit of the original PAF; offering sweet, singing sustain, wound to deliver clear, full chords with just a touch of midrange growl when you really dig in. The TB-4 in the bridge position is Duncan’s original hot-rodded humbucker, a high output design with rich, powerful low end, crisp and detailed highs, and a slight upper-midrange bump that adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords and translates to a singing, vocal-like quality for melodic playing. This Jackson weighs 8lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a very slender D-shaped profile carve with generous shoulders in every register, measuring .735” deep at the 1st fret and .865” at the 12th. The bound 24-fret ebony fretboard features pearloid shark fin inlay and retains the flawless jumbo fretwire. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The locking nut measures a full 1 11/16” in width, holding pitch well against the deepest of dives from the Floyd Rose tremolo. The headstock sports a Jackson Stars logo and the original set of chrome-plated tuning machines, which turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. On the body, all of the electronics function as intended, with the factory-loaded Seymour Duncan humbuckers wired to the stock harness and governed by a three-way pickup selector and Master Volume and Tone knobs. Both pickups retain the factory stickers on their baseplates, dating the instrument to 2008. The chrome-plated hardware is all notably clean, including the dome-topped knurled knobs, Floyd Rose tremolo, switch tip, and pickup surrounds. The gloss Cobalt Blue Swirl finish is a unique and eye-catching application, with cosmetic wear limited to a few very small finish chips on the body points and just a few faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless. An ESP-branded gigbag is included.
