Up for sale, a 2008 Ibanez Prestige J. Craft model RG1570L in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original molded hardshell case, hangtags and factory documentation. This rare, left-handed model features a satin Suede Black finish only available from 2007-2008, a trio of special design Dimarzio pickups, and an Edge Pro tremolo system.
A triple pickup HSH affair with a V7/S1/V8 pickup complement, the humbucker sounds are pure high gain power, designed to keep things cutting, focused, and clear with excellent feedback rejection. On the five-way switch, settings 2-4 offer various shadings of single coil snap and sparkle, coil-tapping the humbuckers and combining them with the centrally located single coil. The guitar weighs 7lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action and spot-on intonation.
The maple/walnut five-piece neck has Ibanez's much-lauded Wizard Prestige profile, a slender and fast-feeling D-shaped carve, measuring .750” deep at the 1st fret and .810” at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard features mini dot inlay, and the jumbo fretwire is flawless. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the locking nut measures 43mm in width (1 11/16”). On the headstock, the Cosmo Black Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch, and the back of the headstock retains the Team J. Craft decal.
All of the electronics function as intended, with simple controls including Master Volume and Tone knobs with a five-way pickup selector switch. The Cosmo Black hardware includes the dome-topped knurled knobs and the Edge Pro tremolo. The satin Suede Black finish, as the name would imply, has a soft matte feel, with cosmetic wear limited to some very light scuffing along the treble side of the strum path, and just a few faint scratches on the body as a whole. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is immaculate.
