Up for sale, a 2008 Ibanez EGEN18 Herman Li signature model in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Recognized primarily for his work with British power metal band DragonForce, the EGEN18 was the first model to be introduced in Li’s signature line with Ibanez, featuring a sleek contoured body, Kung Fu Grip on the upper horn, flame maple top highlighted by a Transparent Violet Flat finish, HSH DiMarzio pickups, an Edge Zero tremolo with ZPS3 stabilizer, and a 24-fret slab rosewood fingerboard with abalone oval inlays and scalloping on the last four frets.
The DiMarzio HLM Custom pickups were designed to evoke Li’s signature sound, with the middle single coil wound hot for exceedingly high output. The neck pickup is fat and punchy, while the bridge is tight and aggressive, offering excellent presence and definition that slices through even the densest mix. With a push/pull Coil Tap on the Volume knob, five-way switching, and the ability to pair the single coil with either humbucker for greater clarity and top-end snap, this guitar has a broad tonal spectrum, ideal for singing high gain or pristine, complex-sounding cleans. This EGEN18 weighs 7lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
