Up for sale, a 2008 Guild D55 dreadnought, near-mint and complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. First introduced in 1968 as a special-order top-of-the-line model and famously showcased on the Smothers Brothers Show, the D55 was so well-received that Guild added it to their regular production line by 1974. This uncommon iteration of the D55 was crafted in the USA in Tacoma, WA (at the Tacoma guitar factory).

Weighing 5lbs 8oz, tonewoods include a Sitka spruce top paired with solid Indian rosewood back and sides, and the mahogany neck is capped with an ebony fingerboard. Yielding tons of projection and power, there's a booming kick in the bass register and a high volume ceiling ideal for bluegrass picking. The midrange is layered and detailed with a sweetness and subtle growl, while the treble strings are punchy and sparkling. This Guild D55 benefits from a professional setup here at Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.

Extremely well kept for nearly two decades, there’s just one finish scratch adjacent to the binding on the treble-side lower bout on top, and some additional light finish scratches in the clear coat. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original hardshell case is included, along with the serialized hangtags and case candy.
