Up for sale, a 2008 Fender Telecaster Custom '62 vintage reissue model in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with factory-installed Fender USA-made Texas Special pickups. This "Made in Japan" Telecaster is a rare model, meant only for the Japanese domestic market, featuring a rare transparent Cherry gloss finish on the alder body framed by ivory binding on the top and back.Officially model TL62B-80TX, this Telecaster came stock from the factory with Fender USA-made Texas Special black bobbin pickups. These pickups offer a bit more kick than your traditional Tele single coil while retaining a vintage-flavored twang, snap, and chewy cut. With great clarity and chime in every position on the three-way switch, there's a biting treble response in the bridge position and smooth, sweet tones at the neck. The guitar weighs 8lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings and low action. The maple neck has a modestly chunky C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .850" deep at the 1st fret and .970" at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features a vintage-spec 7 1/4" fretboard radius and retains the original slender fretwire which has its full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. The guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale, and the neck is straight with an optimally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The nut measures 42mm in width (1.650"). On the headstock, the Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The "Made in Japan" text and T-prefix serial is present above the four-bolt neck plate. All of the stock electronics work as they should, with the USA-made Fender Texas Special pickups governed by Master Volume and Tone controls with knurled knobs. The chrome hardware shines like new, and the bridge is complete with vintage-spec spiral saddles. The transparent Cherry gloss is accented by a three-ply parchment pickguard, and cosmetic wear is limited to a few tiny nicks and faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The lightly ambered gloss finish on the neck profile is nigh flawless.A gigbag is included.
