Up for sale, a 2008 Fender Stratocaster ‘68 vintage reissue model ST68-92TX in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag and factory documentation. This upper-tiered “Crafted in Japan” Strat was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, uncommon outside its country of origin. The Hendrix-centric feature set includes a large late '60s-style headstock with a single string tree, Schaller-built F-stamped tuners, a maple cap fretboard (no skunk stripe), and a trio of USA-made Texas Special single coil pickups.
This alder-bodied Strat weighs 7lbs 13oz, with a clear and balanced acoustic quality that provides an ideal platform for the Texas Specials. Made in the USA at Fender's Custom Shop, the Texas Special design features all the hallmarks of vintage construction with black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and staggered alnico pole pieces. Slightly overwound for additional output and midrange kick, these pickups deliver Stratocaster sparkle and cut with ease. The bridge pickup has a snappy, aggressive spank, the neck pickup is smooth and broad, and the “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector switch offer quintessential hollow Strat quack. This ST68-92TX has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:

-Frets: Slender, virtually no wear
-Scale Length: 25 1/2”
-Nut: 1 9/16”, bone

-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, Five-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Six-point vibrato
-Plastics: Three-ply white pickguard, knobs
There are some subtle darker marks in the clear coat along the bass-side of the top and back (likely a small amount of dye bleed from clothing or a case/gigbag lining), and further cosmetic wear on the gloss Olympic White finish is limited to a couple tiny nicks along the lower bout perimeter. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss, with a few shallow marks central to the carve behind frets 2-7 that are not distracting to the palm while fretting.
The original gigbag is included, along with the Fender Japan manual and serialized hangtag, dating to the 20th year of the Heisie era (2008).
