Up for sale, a 2008 Fender Stratocaster ‘62 vintage reissue model ST62-SPL in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and owner’s manual. This “Made in Japan” Stratocaster is a rare non-catalog Fender Japan model in the vein of Stevie Ray Vaughnn’s “Charley” Stratocaster, outfitted from the factory with a trio of Seymour Duncan SLS-1 Lipstick single coil pickups.

The Seymour Duncan SLS-1 single coil pickups are a Strat-sized iteration of a Danelectro "Lipstick" pickup, capturing the round, full-sounding cleans of that unique '50s pickup design. They're jangly when clean, with a dynamic grit and creaminess when overdriven. The middle pickup is reverse-wound, reverse-polarity, ensuring hum-free operation at the spanky “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector. Weighing 8lbs 3oz, this “Charley”-style ST62 SPL has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
