Up for sale, a 2008 Fender Stratocaster ‘62 vintage reissue model ST62-58US in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This “Crafted in Japan” Strat is uncommon outside its country of origin, featuring USA-made American Vintage 57/62 single coil pickups with black bobbins, staggered alnico magnets, and cloth-covered leads.Designed to pay homage to the golden era Pre-CBS Strat, this Stratocaster has a balanced, clear natural acoustic quality with a basswood body, maple neck and thick slab rosewood fretboard. The bridge pickup provides sweet sparkle and cut, the neck pickup is bold and round-sounding with a throaty zing and harmonic richness, and the "in-between" positions on the five-way pickup selector switch have a snappy, thinned-out quack. This Strat weighs 7lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation. The maple neck has a fairly chunky C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulders in every register and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .860” deep at the 1st fret and .980” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius and practically perfect slender frets, playing cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The stock bone nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The “Crafted in Japan” text and S-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate. All of the electronics work as intended, and the trio of USA-made Fender single coil pickups are wired to the original harness with full-size pots. The tremolo has a full-size block for optimal resonance, and the chrome hardware has bright plating. Plastics include the uniformly aged trio of knobs, and the clean three-ply white pickguard which has some requisite pick scuffing on the treble side of the strum path.Cosmetic wear on the gloss Olympic White finish is limited to a handful of dings on the bass side of the top, a few additional marks on the lower bout body edge, and some scattered faint finish scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless. The original Fender-branded padded gigbag is included.
