Up for sale, a 2008 Fender Roland Ready Stratocaster in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with an accompanying Roland GR-33 Guitar Synthesizer. With an alder body, one-piece maple neck, and 21 fret slab rosewood fretboard, this Strat offers a traditional tonewood complement for a balanced and clear natural response. The complete functions of the Roland GK-2A are embedded in this Strat platform, letting the player drive the included GR-33 Guitar Synthesizer and other 13-pin compatible MIDI gear. In addition to the Roland technology at the heart of this model, the guitar has all the functionality and tonal breadth of a traditional Stratocaster, loaded with an upgraded set of Fender American Standard alnico magnet single coil pickups that have plenty of sparkle and sweetness. This Roland Ready Strat weighs 7lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, accurate intonation, and low action.
The one-piece maple neck has a rounded medium C-shaped profile carve with good shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .860” deep at the 1st fret and .930” at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard features a modern 9 1/2” radius, dot inlay, and stock slender fretwire. The frets have their full factory height with well-rounded crowns, showing virtually no wear and playing cleanly in every register. The neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. The guitar conforms to typical Strat specs with a full 25 1/2“ scale length, and a nut measuring 1 5/8“ in width. On the headstock, the original Schaller-made and Fender-branded tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
The electronics all function as intended, with the trio of upgraded Fender American Standard single coil pickups wired to a five-way pickup selector switch and Master Volume and Tone knobs. Controls for the Roland pickup include a three-way Guitar/Mix/Synth toggle, Up and Down buttons, and a Master Volume. The chrome hardware has plenty of shine, and the plastic parts are clean as can be. Extremely well-kept, cosmetic wear is limited to a bit of requisite pick scuffing on the treble side of the pick path, and a few light finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the Black finish mostly relegated to the back body edge. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is pristine.
The included GR-33 is a floor-based guitar synth derived from the Roland JV-1080 module. Features include 384 instrument sounds, improved tracking speed, dedicated Chorus and Reverb processing, plus 40 multi-effects. Tthere are some minor marks on the enclosure, while the graphics are minty.
The original Fender gigbag is included, as well as MIDI cable and power supply for the GK-33.
