2008 Fender Jazz Bass '66 Vintage Reissue JB66B Olympic White Blocks & Binding, Japan MIJ

Up for sale, a 2008 Fender Jazz Bass '66 vintage reissue in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Fender-branded gigbag. Made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market (officially model JB66B), this is a particularly unique and rare instrument with an Olympic White custom color finish, matching headstock, and pearloid blocks and cream binding on the rosewood fretboard. An alder-bodied bass able to growl and thump with the best, this Jazz Bass delivers upper midrange burp, articulate treble detail, and thick, focused low end. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this bass weighs 9lbs 3oz, dialed in for comfortable action and accurate intonation with 45-105 roundwound strings.

The maple neck has a slender C shape with full shoulders in every register and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .760" deep at the 1st fret and .890" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features block inlay and pristine stock slender fretwire. The bass conforms to traditional Fender specifications with a 1 1/2" nut width, 7 1/4" fretboard radius, and 34" scale. The rare matching Olympic White headstock features clover button tuners with full-size, vintage-spec baseplates, and the tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well with faint surface patina. The "Made in Japan" text and T-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

The electronics are untouched with Fender Japan pickups and pots and a traditional Volume/Volume/Tone control layout. Hardware includes the stock bridge with spiral saddles and chrome control plate which shows light surface patina. A brown tortoise pickguard with a bit of requisite pick scuffing rounds out the plastics. Cosmetic wear is limited to a stray finish chip on the back lower bout body edge, with a couple additional smaller finish chips on the edge of the neck pocket and tip of the headstock. There are also some light marks mostly relegated to the treble side lower bout. The neck profile sports a pristine smooth gloss finish.

The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
