Up for sale, a 2008 Fender Aerodyne Telecaster model ATL in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, finished in Vintage White. This discontinued Fender Japan offering, first introduced in 2004, sports a bevy of unique features including a contoured top framed by black binding, a matching headstock, satin neck finish, and a P-90 pickup in the neck position.Tonewoods include a basswood body, a maple neck, and a thick slab rosewood fretboard, and this guitar has a smooth, balanced acoustic voice, faithfully captured by the stock pickup complement. The traditional Tele bridge pickup delivers twang and bite with a shimmering top end. The soapbar P-90 in the neck position has a midrange-forward bark, warm with plenty of growl and presence, and the two pickups blend notably well for a thick sound with great articulation. This Aerodyne weighs 7lbs 7oz, benefitting from a professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .835” deep at the 1st fret and .925” at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard has a 7 1/4“ radius, and the stock slender fretwire is pristine. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the bone measures 1.650” (42mm) in width, carved from bone for optimal clarity and sustain. On the matching headstock, the Kluson-style tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The “Crafted in Japan” text and T-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate. All of the electronics function as intended, with the pickups governed by a three-way pickup selector switch and Volume and Tone controls. The chrome-plated hardware has plenty of shine, including the dome-topped knurled knobs and six-saddle bridge with block saddles. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Vintage White finish is limited to a scant few tiny dings on the back of the body. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.A gigbag is included.
