Up for sale, a 2008 Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass DiMarzio Collection model AJB-110DMC in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This upscale “Made in Japan” Aerodyne Jazz Bass is a rare model produced for just a few short years as a Japanese domestic exclusive, featuring a bound two-piece flame maple top on a “drop-top” contoured alder body and a pair of DiMarzio “Heavy Drive” DCJ-2 single coil pickups wound exclusively for this particular model and not available elsewhere.
The bass has a smooth, even acoustic voice, and the DiMarzio “Heavy Drive” DCJ-2 pickups are designed to accentuate all the best J Bass qualities while mitigating issues that can occasionally plague other single coil designs. The midrange is notably full and potent without compromising any growl or immediacy of the note attack, and the low end is big and powerful without being inarticulate. This Aerodyne Jazz Bass AJB-110DMC benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
