Up for sale, a 2008 Fender Telecaster Custom ‘62 vintage reissue model TL62B-BTX in near-mint, 100% original condition. This “Crafted in Japan” Telecaster is an upscale iteration featuring a genuine USA-made Bigsby B5F vibrato tailpiece and a factory-installed pair of USA-made Fender Texas Special pickups.
Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fretboard, and this Tele weighs 8lbs 13oz. The pair of USA-made Texas Special single coils feature all the hallmarks of vintage Fender pickup construction, with black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and staggered, unbeveled alnico magnet pole pieces. Slightly overwound for a bit more kick than a traditional pair of single coils, the Texas Specials deliver plenty of snarl, with quintessential Tele twang in the bridge position and sweet percussive cut at the neck. This TL62B-BTX has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Chunky C, full shoulders, measuring .870” 1st fret, .990” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 7 1/4” vintage-spec radius
-Frets: Slender, light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-5
-Scale Length: 25 1/2”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Serialization: “Crafted in Japan,” S-prefix
Body Specs:
-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: Fender USA Texas Special single coil x2
-Controls: Volume, Tone, Three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Bigsby B5F vibrato, flat-top knurled knobs, bridge with spiral (threaded) saddles
-Plastics: Three-ply pickguard, “top hat” switch tip
The gloss Candy Apple Red finish is framed on both sides by cream binding, and cosmetic wear is limited to a couple minor dings on the back and a few finish scratches in the clear coat on the lower bout perimeter. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original gigbag is included.
