Up for sale, a 2008 Divided by 13 SJT 10/20 1x12” combo amplifier in near-mint condition and in perfect working order. Divided by 13’s amps are all built by hand, one at a time, with top notch components throughout. The SJT 10/20 combo is a notably versatile, potent amp with a surprisingly dynamic array of tones on tap via the streamlined control configuration.
A single-channel, dual-input design, the SJT 10/20s main weapon is the titular 10/20 watt Class switch, which toggles between ‘50s-style tweed tones in Class A (10 watt) mode or big, bold muscle at a full 20 watts in a Class AB1/A configuration. Simple, user-friendly controls include Reverb, Bass, Treble, and Volume knobs, each with an impressively wide sweep, and there is a push/pull Mid/Gain Boost at the Volume knob for extra kick. When dialed up, this amp absolutely rips, with creamy breakup starting around 6 on the dial, only getting more rich and powerful as volume increases. The Dampening/Flattening switch enables tonal control at all levels, and the Reverb is lush and three-dimensional.
The tube complement comprises a matched pair of JJ 6V6 power tubes, a Ruby 5AR4C rectifier, and a preamp section of three 12AX7s, one 12AT7, and one 5879. The Celestion G12H 70th Anniversary 12” speaker is designed to recreate the classic tones of ‘60s and ‘70s rock, with aggressive lows, powerful low-mids, and crystal clear trebles. The cabinet is dated to 5-29-08.
Cosmetic touches include two-tone black/white tolex, light-up “÷13” badge, and silver/gold grillcloth. There are just a couple faint scuffs on the tolex and two tiny snags in the grillcloth. The original quartet of chickenhead knobs are present, and the faceplate graphics are pristine.
