Up for sale, a 2008 Collings SoCo Deluxe in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and loaded with Lollar Imperial Low Wind PAF-style humbuckers. Crafted with the finest seasoned maple and Honduran mahogany, this flame top iteration of the SoCo Deluxe platform is exceedingly lively and lightweight at only 7lbs 1oz. The SoCo takes its inspiration from ES-style instruments and elevates the design and craftsmanship. Set apart from typical ES laminate construction, the SoCo Deluxe features all solid woods including the premium bookmatched tiger maple top, Honduran mahogany back and rims, and a one-piece Honduran mahogany neck capped with an Indian rosewood fretboard, fitted with a hand-set extra long mortise and tenon neck joint.
This Collings is one of the finest USA-made boutique guitars available today, with an eye towards history and exacting standards for tone and modern playability. All woods are acclimated and hand-selected for density and acoustic response, and this SoCo Deluxe is loaded with Lollar Imperial "Low Wind" PAFs. The "Low Wind" iteration of the Imperial is specifically tailored for ES-style guitars that inherently have more natural warmth and fullness, ensuring optimal treble detail and a tighter, more focused low end. These humbuckers are extremely dynamic and complex in their response, purposefully wound for each pickup position to ensure a vital, unique tone in every setting on the three way switch. This SoCo Deluxe has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
