Up for sale, a 2008 B.C. Rich Mockingbird ST in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A remarkable value in terms of build quality, premium woods, tonal options, and top shelf hardware, the Mockingbird ST features neck through construction with a AAA quilted maple top and thick slab ebony fretboard. Grover Super Rotomatic tuners are also standard fare on this model, and this guitar comes equipped with the original Seymour Duncan-designed HB-103 humbuckers. The instrument boasts a ton of tonal versatility thanks to the five-way rotary Varitone switch, individual coil tap mini toggles for each humbucker, and two-way phase mini toggle. From thick churning high gain to spanky, sparkling cleans, this Mockingbird covers significant tonal ground. The guitar weighs 8lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with modest shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .820” deep at the 1st fret and .885” at the 12th. The slab ebony fretboard is notably light in its coloration, featuring a 12” radius, diamond inlay, and flawless stock medium jumbo fretwire. This guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 11/16” in width. On the headstock, the black genuine Grover Rotomatic tuners feature the iconic stair-stepped buttons of the Imperial design, with an extremely smooth and reliable gear ratio.

On the body, the electronics function as they should, and all of the stock knobs and switches are intact. The high mass wraparound hardtail bridge is less common than the tremolo-equipped Mockingbirds, and this bridge features individual saddles and a design that ensures optimal resonance. The maple neck-through body is framed by mahogany wings, capped with deeply-figured AAA quilted maple highlighted by a high gloss Transparent Purple finish. This is a notably clean example, with cosmetic wear on the finish limited to some light scuffing on the treble side of the pick path and a handful of faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is immaculate.

The original B.C. Rich-branded padded gigbag is included.
