Up for sale, a 2007 Lentz Croydon in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A one-owner Croydon from Lentz's very first production run, this instrument is distinct from Lentz's current offerings, boasting all mahogany construction, a pair of Lentz's hand-wound P-90 pickups, and a neck spec'd notably deeper than the measurements detailed on Lentz's site.Iterating on a golden age Gibson Les Paul/SG Special, the Croydon has a resonant natural acoustic response, weighing a mere 6lbs 5oz.  The hand-wound P-90s are extremely lively, articulate and glassy, governed by a Vol/Vol/Tone control array. The Croydon offers a detailed, vital sound in every pickup position with a real hi-fi fidelity and harmonic richness, and these pickups are ideal for everything from complex clean chording to ripping overdrive. We've had this Croydon professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action and 11-49 strings. The mahogany neck has a full U-shaped profile carve with tons of meat and shoulder, measuring .965" deep at the 1st fret and 1.010" at the 12th. The genuine Brazilian rosewood fretboard features a 12" radius with small block inlay and flawless vintage-style fretwire with fret edge binding. The straight neck has ideal relief, and the guitar plays easily up the 24.625" scale length. The carved bone nut measures 1 11/16" in width, and the headstock features an "L" inlay and Gotoh-made Kluson-style tuning machines with aged green keystone buttons. The original hand-wound P-90 pair is wired to CTS pots which date to '07 and a premium paper-in-oil tone capacitor. Hardware includes the nickel wraparound bridge, and the Carbon Black gloss nitro lacquer finish is framed by cream binding on top. This particular Croydon is a custom build, eschewing the maple top commonly seen on this model for all mahogany body and neck construction. Cosmetic wear is limited to a bit of faint pick scuffing on the treble side of the strum path, one very small finish chip on the back of the treble-side cutaway, and a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the nitro gloss, mostly on top. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless. The original black tolex G&G hardshell case is included.
