2007 Gibson Les Paul Standard Flame Top Cherry Sunburst w/ Burstbucker Pro PAFs, Case

Up for sale, a 2007 Gibson Les Paul Standard in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This Les Paul boasts a warm Cherry Sunburst gloss nitro lacquer finish on the two-piece carved flame maple cap, loaded with Burstbucker Pro PAF pickups that channel the golden age of Gibson.

Standard fare in this model as of 2007, the Burstbucker Pros are a slightly hot-rodded version of Gibson's Burstbucker PAF, with unmatched bobbin windings and Alnico V magnets (in place of the usual Alnico II). The sound is fat and meaty, interacting well with high gain amps and providing excellent feedback rejection while having a general tonal profile consistent with the PAF design. Whether you seek warm, silky neck pickup tonalities or bridge pickup sounds that have some push and growl, this Les Paul is a great candidate for covering a wide range of genres. This Les Paul weighs 8lbs 4oz, with a clear, lively voice that sustains beautifully. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Les Paul is dialed in with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The one-piece mahogany neck has a particularly slender 60s C-shaped profile carve with round, inviting shoulders and a very easy-playing feel, measuring .805" deep at the 1st fret and .895" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard retains the stock fretwire which has its full factory height and perfectly rounded crowns, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-4. The guitar plays cleanly in every register with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length measures 24 3/4", and the nut is 1 11/16" in width, upgraded to a hand-carved piece of bone for optimal note clarity and sustain. On the headstock, the original Gibson Deluxe tuners are notable for being the more vintage-correct version with push-in tuner bushings and lightly greened tulip buttons.

All of the electronics work as intended, and while the Burstbucker Pros are correctly spec'd for this model, this particular set was installed circa 2012 as evidenced by the dated stickers on the pickup baseplates which also retain their PAF decals. The wiring harness has also been upgraded with tightly spec'd 500K CTS pots and Bumblebee tone caps. Hardware includes the chrome pickup covers on the Burstbucker PAFs, along with a nickel-plated Nashville bridge and corresponding stopbar. The top features straight flame figuring across the carved, bookmatched two-piece maple cap, most prominent on the treble-side lower bout, framed by cream binding. The gloss nitro lacquer finish exhibits a spot of targeted buckle rash at the bass-side waist, a few minor marks on the body perimeter, and some tiny pinhead-sized nicks on top, mostly clustered behind the bridge. The neck profile retains a smooth nitro gloss that feels great on the palm. The guitar does exhibit a smokey smell which extends to the case and should dissipate over time.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included.
