Up for sale, a 2007 Gibson J-45 Rosewood in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. An upscale iteration of Gibson’s ever-popular workhorse dreadnought, this J-45 features solid rosewood back and sides (instead of the usual mahogany), an ebony fingerboard and bridge, gold Grover Rotomatic tuning machines, a piezo transducer undersaddle pickup, and a gloss Vintage Sunburst nitro lacquer finish. Ordered by Gibson’s Japanese distributor Yamano; Gibson’s USA-made guitars distributed via Yamano are often considered to be among their best, featuring the highest quality woods picked for Gibson’s discerning Japanese audience.
The slope shoulder J-45 design ensures great natural warmth and projection, boasting an X-braced Sitka spruce top and an ebony fingerboard on the one-piece mahogany neck. The treble response is particularly detailed and articulate, while the rosewood back/sides blend the traditional warmth and balance of the J-45 shape with rich, deep lows, shimmering highs, and a smooth, rounded midrange with an overarching clarity. It’s also equally rewarding both as a flatpicker and as a fingerstyle instrument. Weighing 5lbs 2oz, this J-45 Rosewood has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.
