Up for sale, a 2007 Gibson Custom Shop '68 Les Paul Custom in showroom clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original COA and hardshell case. With the tonewood combination of a carved maple cap, chambered mahogany body, one-piece mahogany neck, and slab ebony fretboard, this Custom has exquisite sustain with a lively, dynamic natural quality. The '57 Classic PAF humbuckers are wound faithfully to vintage spec with Alnico II magnets, delivering shimmering cleans and rich overdriven roar. The bridge pickup has excellent cut and clarity with a smooth growl when you dig in hard, and the neck position humbucker is bold and round, benefitting from the glassy articulation of the ebony fingerboard. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with 10-46 strings, this Les Paul is dialed in with low action and accurate intonation. The mahogany neck has a round baseball bat '50s-style C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder and ideal heft, measuring .900" deep at the 1st fret and 1.010" at the 12th. The genuine ebony fretboard sports pearl block inlay and original medium jumbo frets that retain their full factory height, with flawless crowns and virtually no wear. The scale length is 24 3/4", and the nut has Gibson's traditional 1 11/16" width. On the headstock, the nickel Grover Rotomatic tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch extremely well. The headstock has all of the classic appointments of a Les Paul Custom, with split diamond pearl inlay, multi-ply binding, and Gibson Custom Shop logo on the back. All of the electronics work as they should, with clean PAF decals and dated stickers on the humbucker baseplates, untouched solder joints, and the original quartet of pots with Bumblebee caps. Hardware includes the ABR-1 bridge and corresponding stopbar with a touch of factory-applied patina, and plastics comprise the multi-ply pickguard and quartet of reflector cap knobs. The Aged Pelham Blue nitro lacquer finish is a shade that pushes heavily towards Inverness Green, framed by lightly ambered multi-ply cream binding. There's barely a scratch on the body, and the neck profile is flawless. The original black tolex Gibson Custom Shop hardshell case is included, along with the COA with matching serial number.
