Up for sale, a 2007 Fender Telecaster '71 vintage reissue in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Made in Japan and officially model TL71/ASH, this Tele was long ago discontinued and is rarely seen outside its country of origin. The guitar features a transparent Blonde gloss finish over an ash body, paired with a one-piece maple neck, and the guitar's natural acoustic tone delivers the treble articulation of maple and the midrange heft and authority of ash. The resulting tonal palette yields a bridge pickup that has ample twang and chime, while the neck pickup has a smooth, open tone with warm lower mids and airy highs. The guitar weighs 7lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action and 9-42 strings.
The maple neck has a medium C profile carve with round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .830" deep at the 1st fret and .920" at the 12th. The original slender frets show moderate wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-4, growing fainter until fret 7, playing cleanly in every register. The neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. The scale length is 25 1/2", and the nut measures 1 5/8". The headstock features a '70s-style Telecaster block logo, as well as original Fender "F" tuners that turn very smoothly. The "Made in Japan" text and T-prefix serial are present just above the four-bolt neck plate.
All of the original electronics function as intended, and all original hardware and plastic parts are present. The bridge features a trio of steel barrel saddles, showing just a touch of light surface patina, while the chrome plating on the control plate and knurled knobs is nigh flawless. Wear on the transparent gloss Blonde finish is limited to a few small finish chips on the perimeter of the slab body, and scattered small dings across the back and behind the bridge on top. The unambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Fender-branded padded gigbag is included.
