Up for sale, a 2007 Fender American Standard Stratocaster in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and case candy. An ash-bodied iteration of the American Standard platform, this Fender reflects the high quality reinvention of the Stratocaster platform in the modern era. With reverence for Fender's past and a host of modern, player-friendly features, this USA-made Strat features a 9 1/2" fretboard radius on the 22 fret slab rosewood fingerboard, medium jumbo fretwire, a two-point tremolo, and Schaller tuning machines, all tweaks on the classic Strat platform that ensure optimal playability and tone. The trio of alnico magnet single coil pickups offer plenty of bite and articulation, and the neck pickup is particularly sparkling, with a round, bell-like tone that's perfect for lead work and chording alike. Naturally, the five-way switch offers classic Strat quack in the 2 and 4 positions as well, and the sonic range of the guitar reflects the tonewood compliment, with the midrange complexity and note attack of ash, and the smooth detail of the rosewood fretboard. The guitar balances well on a strap and weighs 7lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and dialed in with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has a medium C shape with slight shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .835” deep at the 1st fret and .875” at the 12th. The stock medium jumbo frets retain their full factory height with well-rounded crowns and virtually no fretwear, offering easy playability up the 22 fret slab rosewood board. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width, and the headstock retains the original Fender-stamped Schaller tuning machines which turn very smoothly and hold pitch well with clean chrome plating.
All of the original electronics function as intended with the traditional Strat control compliment, untouched solder joints, and original CTS pots. The underside of the guard also has a factory inspection sticker dated 12-6-07. The chrome hardware is near mint, and the two-point tremolo system has a very smooth and responsive feel, complete with its full compliment of bent steel saddles (an addition attributed to the '08 model year, yet present on this late 2007 example). The plastics are flawless save for a few faint pick scuffs on the treble side of the guard, and there's barely a scratch on the gloss Sienna Sunburst finish which highlights the broad grain of the ash body. The satin neck profile finish is equally pristine and silky smooth on the palm.
The original Fender molded hardshell case is included, along with the original factory paperwork and case candy.
