Up for sale, a 2007 Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass in near mint, 100% original condition and in good working order, complete with the original hangtags and gigbag. A "Made in Japan" exclusive model not designed for export, this particular Aerodyne is unique both visually and sonically, with a PJ pickup configuration, bound body, and gloss Black finish with matching headstock. While most Fender basses that have the PJ pickup configuration use a Precision-style body, this Aerodyne has the sleek looks and comfortable 1 1/2" nut width of the Jazz Bass. The pickups offer both the ample thump and heft of a split coil Precision neck pickup and the midrange cut and articulation of a Jazz pickup at the bridge. The bass is well-balanced on a strap and easy on the back at 8lbs 9oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with fresh 45-100 roundwound strings.The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .800" deep at the 1st fret and .960" at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard is a dark, tight-grained cut, and the slender vintage-style frets are flawless and play cleanly up the neck. The bass conforms to traditional Jazz Bass specifications with a 34" scale and easily navigable 1 1/2" nut width. The matching Black headstock features chrome clover button tuning machines that turn very smoothly and hold pitch well. The "Made in Japan" text and T-prefix serial number are present above the four-bolt neck plate.All of the electronics work as intended, with individual Volume knobs for each pickup and a Master Tone control. The chrome plating on the bridge base and control plate is clean and bright, with just a touch of patain on the chrome Strat-style knobs. Cosmetic wear is limited to a few light pick scuffs across the guard, and just a couple small dings on the back and body perimeter. The satin finish on the neck profile is flawless and silky smooth.The original hangtags and manual are included, along with the Fender-branded padded gigbag.
