Up for sale, a 2007 Fender Stratocaster '62 vintage reissue model ST62-66DMC, 100% original and in perfect working order. Made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market at the Dyna Gakki factory, this model Stratocaster model is rarely seen outside its country of origin, featuring an Old Candy Apple Red gloss finish and outfitted with factory-installed Dimarzio Collection ceramic magnet single coils.
The Dimarzio Full Range Impact ceramic pickups provide tonal characteristics suited for both crystalline cleans and higher gain shred, with the versatility of a five-way pickup selector switch. The bridge pickup is sparkling and cutting, the neck pickup delivers bold, powerful tonalities, and the "in-between" 2 and 4 settings unleash the classic quack attack. Weighing 7lbs 12oz and professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Strat is strung with 10-46 strings and dialed in for optimal action and intonation.
The maple neck has a medium C profile with lightly rolled fretboard edges and more shoulder and roundness up the board, feeling fast and easily navigable in every register. The profile measures .845” deep at the 1st fret and .960” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a vintage spec 7 1/4" radius with slender fretwire that shows just a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. The guitar plays well in all registers with an ideally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The scale length is 25 1/2“, and the nut measures 1 5/8" in width. The headstock features Kluson-style tuners which hold pitch well, even with liberal use of the vibrato.
The electronics are untouched, with the original trio of Dimarzio single coils wired to full-size Japanese pots and a five-way selector switch. The vibrato features a full-size trem block for optimal sustain and resonance, and the vibrato actuates very easily for expressive warbles and dives. The parchment pickguard is accented by a complement of cream knobs and Dimarzio-branded pickup covers.
The "Old" Candy Apple Red gloss finish is a vintage-correct shade of this classic Fender custom color, dark and saturated and extremely well-kept overall. Wear is limited to some light pick scuffing on the treble side of the strum path, a few light marks relegated to the treble side lower bout body edge, and a stray mark on the bass side horn. The neck profile sports a clean ambered gloss finish.
The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
