Up for sale, a 2007 Epiphone Elitist '65 Casino in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and factory paperwork. Produced in Japan at the Terada factory and featuring a vibrant and era-correct Sunburst finish, this is an uncommon Epiphone reissue with a factory-fitted USA-made Bigsby B7 vibrato and Gibson P-90 pickups.
Acoustically, the fully hollow all-maple body has a smooth, bright tone which pairs well with the P-90 pickup pair. Genuine Gibson USA-made P-90s, the pickups are wound to vintage spec with plenty of midrange bark, and a glassy, percussive quality. Ideal for articulate, percussive cleans or thick overdrive, these pickups can produce either with ease and refinement. Even outfitted with the Bigsby, the guitar is featherweight at only 6lbs 14oz. We've had this Casino professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action and accurate intonation.
The mahogany neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with moderate shoulder, measuring .830" deep at the 1st fret and .990" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features pearl trapezoid inlay, and the original medium jumbo fretwire shows only light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-4. The truss rod is responsive and ideally adjusted, playing cleanly in every register up the 24 3/4" scale. The bone nut measures 1 9/16" in width. The headstock has USA-made Grover Rotomatic tuners which turn smoothly and hold pitch exceptionally well.
The electronics include the usual Casino control layout, with dedicated Volume and Tone knobs for each P-90. Hardware includes the nickel-plated ABR-1 bridge and original Bigsby B7 vibrato tailpiece, which has a spring tall enough to execute some fairly deep dives and warbles. The serialized white oval label is visible through the F hole. The Sunburst gloss finish is extremely clean, with just a couple faint finish scratches and tiny marks on the body as a whole.
The original heavy-duty black alligator tolex purple-lined hardshell case is included, along with the original factory paperwork.
