2006 Taylor 714ce Grand Auditorium Body Acoustic Electric Guitar w/ Case

+ shipping

Up for sale, a Taylor 714ce in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A versatile instrument suitable for a wide range of musical applications, the Grand Auditorium body 714ce boasts a rich and dynamic voice. The Lutz spruce top responds with the sonic power and headroom of old-growth Adirondack spruce, with an extra splash of warmth across the tonal spectrum. Together with Taylor’s patented V-Class bracing scheme and solid Indian rosewood back and sides, this guitar resonates with spectacular power, clarity and sustain. One of the most inspiring attributes of the bracing architecture is the noticeably enhanced in-tuneness of the notes, with more harmonic agreement among chords and extra girth in upper-register notes. The result is a balanced, textured sound that’s rich in tonal nuance with enough dynamic range to support hard hitters and soft pickers alike. This Taylor weighs 5lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 12-53 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The tropical mahogany neck has a slender C profile carve with modest shoulder and an easy-playing feel, measuring .845" deep at the 1st fret and .880" at the 9th. The West African Ebony fingerboard boasts practically perfect slender frets, playing cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale, and the Venetian cutaway ensures ideal access to the highest frets. The nut measures a full 1 3/4" in width, and the headstock features a rosewood veneer, Taylor inlay, and gold tuning machines.

Taylor's Expression System electronics include Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. The location of the sensors enables a dynamic range of natural acoustic tonalities, and together with Taylor’s custom-designed “professional audio”-grade preamp, this system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness.
The bridge sits flush with the top, and the compensated saddle has ample height. The natural gloss finish shows only a few faint finish scratches and exceedingly faint marks on the body and neck profile. There is one very cleanly repaired (and difficult to spot) top crack on the treble side extending from the foot of the bridge across the lower bout parallel with the grain, and a strap button and oversized brass washer have been added to the treble side of the neck heel.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included.
