Up for sale, a 2006 Martin HD-28V Vintage Series dreadnought acoustic guitar in excellent condition, complete with the original hardshell case and all factory paperwork. Both tonally and aesthetically, this D-28 captures Martin's golden age with the time tested tonewood combination of a solid Sitka spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides, paired with an ebony fretboard and bridge. A real cannon in terms of projection, this Martin has incredible power and detail, thanks in no small part to the scalloped, forward-shifted X bracing on the top.

A warm, inviting strummer with a nicely worked-in top and a broad, rich sound, this HD-28V highlights Martin’s signature piano-like clarity. Defined and sparkling when strummed with authority, the guitar offers plenty of boom and kick in the bass, with a smooth, detailed treble range. Top things off with herringbone binding, a zigzag backstripe, prominent V neck profile shape, snowflake fretboard inlay, through saddle, and open-gear butterbean tuners, and you have an instrument that's representative of the acoustic guitar model which has been the benchmark for excellence for over 90 years. This Martin weighs 4lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 12-53 strings and easy-playing action.

The mahogany neck has a soft V-shaped profile carve which chords comfortably and measures .870" deep at the 1st fret, graduating to .985" at the 9th. On the ebony fretboard, the guitar spots snowflake inlay and original slender fretwire which shows moderate wear, primarily beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-6. The guitar boasts Martin's 25.4" scale, playing cleanly up the straight neck, and the carved bone nut measures 1 11/16" in width. The headstock is fitted with Martin-branded nickel-plated open-gear tuners with butterbean buttons which turn very smoothly.

On the body, the ebony bridge sits flush with the top on all edges, fitted with a new carved and compensated bone saddle. The Aging Toner-tinted Sitka spruce top is accented by a tortoise pickguard, framed by Pre-War spec herringbone binding. This guitar is crack-free and cosmetic wear is limited to some faint finish scratches in the clear coat and a few minor nicks on the back and rims, with similarly restrained wear on top. A strap button has been added to the neck heel, and the neck profile has a smooth satin finish.

The original vintage-style black tolex hardshell case with green plush interior is included.
