Up for sale, a 2006 Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. An upper tiered "Plus" model with a highly figured bookmatched AAA flame maple top, this Les Paul Standard also boasts a rare Natural gloss nitro lacquer finish. Standard fare in this model as of 2006, the Burstbucker Pros are a slightly hot-rodded version of Gibson's Burstbucker PAF, with unmatched bobbin windings and Alnico V magnets (in place of the usual Alnico II). The sound is fat and meaty, interacting well with high gain amps and providing excellent feedback rejection while having a general tonal profile consistent with the PAF design. Whether you seek warm, silky neck pickup tonalities or bridge pickup sounds that have some push and growl, this Les Paul is a great candidate for covering a wide range of genres. This Les Paul weighs only 9lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation. The one-piece mahogany neck has a slender ‘60s-style C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders in every register, measuring .790" deep at the 1st fret and .900" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard retains the stock fretwire which has its full factory height and perfectly rounded crowns, showing virtually no wear. The guitar plays cleanly in every register with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length measures 24 3/4", and the nut is 1 11/16" in width. On the headstock, the original Gibson Deluxe tuners are notable for being the more vintage-correct version with push-in bushings and lightly greened tulip buttons. All of the electronics work as intended and are untouched, with clean PAF stickers on the Burstbucker baseplates. The nickel-plated hardware shows light, uniform surface patina, and plastics include the original pickup rings, switch surround, and clean gold bonnet knobs. Cream binding frames the Natural nitro lacquer finish on the carved flame maple top, and cosmetic wear includes some tiny, shallow marks on the bass-side of the top, likely attributable to wrist jewelry. The back is remarkably clean, and there is minor “rack rash” from where the finish reacted to a guitar stand in two spots on the top binding on the lower bout, and also on the bass-side shoulder of the neck profile at fret 8. The nitro gloss on the neck profile is otherwise clean and smooth. A heavily padded, zippered Gibson gigbag is included.
