2006 Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus Honey Burst Flame Top 100% Original w/ Case, Yamano, Burstbucker PAF

Up for sale, a 2006 Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. Ordered by Gibson's Japanese distributor Yamano, Gibson's USA-made guitars distributed via Yamano are often considered among their best, featuring the highest quality woods picked for Gibson's discerning Japanese audience.

This Les Paul boasts a very warm, rich gloss nitro lacquer finish straddling the line between Honey Burst and Ice Tea, and the carved maple cap on this upper tiered "Plus" iteration of the Standard features ripples of curly flame extending evenly across the entire top, with the depth and degree of figuring that catches the light at different angles and some light mineral streaking in the maple on the lower bout as well.

Standard fare in this model as of 2006, the Burstbucker Pros are a slightly hot-rodded version of Gibson's Burstbucker PAF, with unmatched bobbin windings and Alnico V magnets (in place of the usual Alnico II). The sound is fat and meaty, interacting well with high gain amps and providing excellent feedback rejection while having a general tonal profile consistent with the PAF design. Whether you seek warm, silky neck pickup tonalities or bridge pickup sounds that have some push and growl, this Les Paul is a great candidate for covering a wide range of genres. This Les Paul weighs 10lbs 12oz, with a powerful, detailed voice, and the guitar has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The one-piece mahogany neck has a slender 60s C-shaped profile carve with round, inviting shoulders and more heft as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and .980" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard retains the stock fretwire which has its full factory height and perfectly rounded crowns, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-7. The guitar plays cleanly in every register with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length measures 24 3/4", and the nut is 1 11/16" in width. On the headstock, the original Gibson Deluxe tuners are notable for being the more vintage-correct version with push-in tuner bushings and lightly greened tulip buttons.

All of the electronics work as intended and are untouched, with clean PAF stickers on the Burstbucker baseplates. The nickel hardware is bright and clean with just a dusting of surface patina, and all original plastic parts are intact including the amber bonnet knobs. Cream binding frames the rich, dark Honey Burst gloss nitro top, and cosmetic wear is limited to some light pick and forearm wear in the clear coat at the bass-side waist on top, and a few additional minor marks behind the bridge, with one small spot of faint buckle rash at the bass-side waist, and only a couple additional minor marks on the body as a whole. The neck profile gloss is nigh flawless.

The original Gibson USA black tolex hardshell case is included, along with the original Gibson/Yamano hangtags.
