2006 Gibson Les Paul Double Cutaway Money Bass, Cherry, 100% Original

+ shipping

Up for sale, a 2006 Gibson Les Paul Double Cutaway "Money Bass" in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. An extremely rare model, the Money Bass features a full 34" scale length and traditional Les Paul tonewoods including a AA flame maple top, mahogany body, and mahogany neck capped with a slab rosewood fingerboard. Loaded with TB Plus ceramic magnet humbuckers identical to those found in Gibson's Thunderbird bass, the Money Bass offers growl, punch and plenty of muscle, with excellent note attack and a sonic signature that pushes your amp hard. The bass weighs 8lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 55-110 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.

The mahogany neck has a modestly slender C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders in every register, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and .930" at the 12th. On the rosewood fretboard, the medium jumbo fretwire is flawless, and the bass plays cleanly in every register up the 34" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 9/16" in width. On the headstock, the gold-plated Grover tuning machines turn smoothly, with surface patina on the buttons.

All electronics function as intended, with the pair of TB Plus humbuckers governed by individual Volume knobs and a Master Tone. Hardware includes the heavy duty top-loader bridge with brass saddles, and plastics comprise a trio of gold speed knobs. Flame figuring extends evenly across the two-piece bookmatched top, and cosmetic wear on the vibrant gloss Cherry finish includes buckle rash on the bass-side lower bout on the back along with a few additional finish scratches and minor marks, mostly relegated to the back.

A gigbag is included.
