2006 Gibson Firebird V Vintage Sunburst 100% Original w/ Banjo Tuners, Case & Hangtag

Up for sale, a 2006 Gibson Firebird V in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtag. Featuring seven-ply neck through construction with a solid mahogany body and neck, the instrument's warmth and natural sustain translates faithfully through a pair of Gibson's hot Firebird pickups. The tone is rich and full, with plenty of midrange content and an aggressive treble bite. Particularly lightweight at 7lbs 6oz, this Gibson has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and spot-on intonation.The mahogany neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with moderate shoulder and a fast, effortless feel, measuring .800" deep at the 1st fret and .860" at the 12th. On the bound rosewood fretboard, the medium frets have well-rounded crowns and plenty of meat and height, showing virtually no wear. The guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width, and the headstock sports the original set of chrome-plated banjo tuners which turn very smoothly, hold pitch well, and are a vintage-correct option no longer available on current standard line Gibson Firebird models.On the body, all of the electronics are stock and work as they should, with individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup, and the humbuckers feature patent number baseplates and untouched solder joints. Hardware includes the gleaming pickup covers and surrounds, with surface patina across the Nashville bridge and stopbar. Plastics comprise the multi-ply pickguard with Firebird graphic and quartet of black reflector cap knobs.The Vintage Sunburst nitro lacquer gloss finish exhibits light buckle rash central to the upper bout, some small dings across the back (and to a far lesser extent on top), and pick scuffing extending beyond the pickguard edge on the treble side. The neck binding is deeply ambered and the gloss on the neck profile is flawless. The guitar and case interior both have a moderately smokey smell.The original black tolex Gibson USA hardshell case is included, along with the original serialized hangtag.
