Up for sale, a 2006 Fender Telecaster Custom '72 vintage reissue in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Manufactured in Japan and intended only for the domestic Japanese market, this Telecaster Custom is a faithful and very well-crafted reissue, embodying everything that makes the Telecaster Custom model so versatile and fun to play.

With a Wide Range humbucker in the neck position and a traditional Tele single coil at the bridge, this Tele has a very broad tonal spectrum, from thick, meaty humbucker tones in the neck position to chiming, twangy single coil tones at the bridge. Of course the middle position is truly a "best of both worlds" setting, and the two pickups balance well both in terms of output and their respective tonal attributes. Weighing 8lbs 8oz, this guitar has a pleasing, crisp acoustic tone with solid sustain that translates well through the pickups. We've had this Tele professionally setup here at our shop, Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, and it's currently strung with 10-46 strings and slinky action.

The one-piece maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and .915" at the 12th. The gloss-finished maple fretboard boasts practically perfect original slender vintage-style fretwire, and the guitar plays cleanly up the straight neck with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length measures 25 1/2", while the fretboard radius also matches vintage spec at 7 1/4". The nut width is 42.5mm (just shy of 1 11/16"). On the headstock, the Gotoh-branded tuners turn very smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The "Crafted in Japan" text and S-prefix serial number are present above the three-bolt F neck plate.

All of the electronics work as intended, with each pickup wired to independent Volume and Tone knobs, in addition to a three-way toggle pickup selector switch. Plastics include the original quartet of witch hat knobs and stock three-ply pickguard, which shows a bit of light pick scuffing across the strum path. Stunningly well-kept, cosmetic wear is limited to a few exceedingly faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the back. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

A gigbag is included.
