Up for sale, a 2006 Fender Telecaster All-Black ‘71 vintage reissue model TL71-65AB in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This rare “Crafted in Japan” Telecaster was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, sporting a limited run All-Black gloss finish.Tonewoods include a basswood body, maple neck and rosewood fretboard, delivering a balanced, lively acoustic tone which translates well through the stock pair of TL-Current single coil pickups. The pickups deliver a bevy of classic Tele tonalities; the bridge position has sparkle and chewy cut, and the neck position has a smooth bell-like fullness. This Telecaster weighs 7lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation. The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with well-rounded shoulders and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840” deep at the 1st fret and .930” at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard has a 7 1/4“ radius, with pearloid dot inlay and flawless stock slender fretwire. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. On the matching headstock, the Gotoh H.A.P. locking tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch, with immaculate chrome plating. The "Crafted in Japan" text and S-prefix serial number are present above the four-bolt F neck plate. All of the electronics function as intended, with the pickups wired to the stock harness and governed by a three-way selector switch and Master Volume and Tone knobs. The chrome-plated hardware is notably clean, including the flat-topped knurled knobs, control plate, and bridge with steel barrel saddles. Plastics comprise the switch tip and the one-ply matte black pickguard, which has some requisite pick scuffing on the treble side of the strum path. This is an exceedingly well-kept example, with cosmetic wear on the gloss All-Black finish limited to a scant few small dings on the lower bout perimeter and a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss, with one small mark on the treble-side shoulder at fret 7 that has no impact on playability.A Marue-brand padded softshell case is included.
