2006 Fender Stratocaster '57 Vintage Reissue ST57-70TX Olympic White w/ USA Pickups, Japan CIJ

Up for sale, a 2006 Fender Stratocaster ‘57 vintage reissue model ST57-70TX in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A “Crafted in Japan” guitar produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and rarely seen outside of its country of origin, this upper tiered vintage reissue Strat is fitted from the factory with a set of USA-made Custom Shop Texas Special pickups.

Tonewoods comprise an alder body and one-piece maple neck, and acoustically, this guitar has a bright, chiming character faithfully captured by the pickups. The factory-installed Fender Custom Shop Texas Special single coils match vintage spec with black fiber bobbins and cloth-covered leads. These clear and chiming Fender single coils have great midrange chirp, tight bass, and a slightly aggressive overwound snap. This guitar weighs 8lbs, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The one-piece maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders, measuring .850” deep at the 1st fret and .930” at the 12th. The maple fretboard has a 7 1/4" radius and flawless slender fretwire, playing cleanly in all registers up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 42mm (1.650") in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The “Crafted in Japan” text and S-prefix serial number are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

On the body, all the electronics work as intended, with the trio of USA-made Custom Shop Texas Special pickups wired to the stock harness and governed by a five-way pickup selector switch and Volume/Tone/Tone control array. The vibrato has a large block for great sustain, and the unit is very responsive for smooth surfy warbles and deeper dives, jumping back into tune with ease. The chrome hardware is bright and clean, and plastics include bright white pickup covers, lightly aged knobs, and a one-ply white pickguard with light pick scuffing favoring the treble side of the guard.

The gloss Olympic White finish is very well-kept, with cosmetic wear limited to a few microscopic dings behind the bridge on the lower bout and a handful of faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The ambered gloss finish on the neck profile is clean and smooth.

The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
