Up for sale, a 2006 Fender DiMarzio Collection ‘54 Stratocaster model ST54-120DMC in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with a tweed G&G Deluxe case. This “Crafted in Japan” Stratocaster originally featured a trio of DiMarzio single coil pickups, upgraded with Fender Custom Shop ‘54 single coils and a full suite of ‘54-spec plastics included rounded pickup covers, tall “short skirt” knobs and a “football” switch tip.
Weighing 7lbs 12oz, traditional tonewoods include a two-piece ash body and a one-piece maple neck with a V-shaped profile carve. The trio of Fender Custom Shop ‘54 single coil pickups deliver classic Strat tonalities at every position on the upgraded five-way pickup selector switch, and these pickups feature black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads, and staggered, beveled pole pieces. The bridge pickup yields a clear, midrange forward sparkle, while the neck is smooth, woody and bell-like. The “in-between” positions offer a thinned-out spank with the detail and midrange heft of the ash/maple tonewood pairing. This ST54-120DMC has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Finished in genuine nitro lacquer, this Stratocaster was a limited run, top-tier offering. The tonewoods, upgraded Custom Shop pickups and premium plastics combine for a compelling and very vintage-accurate ‘54 Strat, and there’s even subtle bearclaw figuring in the ash at the lower bout. Cosmetic wear is limited to a small area of shallow buckle rash on the back on the lower bout and a few minor dings on the body as a whole. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.
A Fender-branded G&G Deluxe tweed hardshell case is included; a previous owner has stenciled “BAD” on the lid.
