Up for sale, a 2006 Fender American Vintage '62 Telecaster Custom in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Fender G&G Deluxe hardshell case. A discontinued model boasting a rare custom color nitro lacquer Ocean Turquoise Metallic finish, this Tele has a few aftermarket player-friendly tweaks including a substituted Fender bridge with compensated brass saddles, an upgraded wiring harness, and a silky smooth satin finish on the neck profile.

Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck and slab rosewood fretboard, delivering a big, ringing acoustic voice which translates well through the original pair of black bobbin single coil pickups. While the bridge pickup has a distinctive chewy twang and sparkle, the neck pickup has a silky smooth quality and bell-like chime. With both pickups engaged, the guitar has a clear percussive snap, equal parts cut and warmth and ideal for rhythm work. The guitar balances well on a strap and weighs 7lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and optimal intonation.

The maple neck has a easy-playing slender C-shaped profile carve with moderate shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and .910" at the 12th. On the slab rosewood fretboard, the slender frets retain their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-5. The guitar plays well in all registers, and the neck is straight with ideal relief. The nut measures 1.650" in width. On the headstock, the original Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines are intact, along with the "Custom Telecaster" waterslide decal. The neck heel and pocket have all the original factory stamps dating to 2006.

All of the electronics function as intended, with original black bobbin Fender single coils, a pair of recent CTS 250k pots, and a premium tone cap. The chrome plating on the hardware is bright and clean, and the stock three-ply pickguard has faintly darkened and yellowed.

Cosmetic wear is limited to some pick scuffing on the treble side of the strum path, minor finish scratches and tiny chips on the back and lower bout body perimeter, and a few additional light marks and scuffs on the body as a whole. The high gloss nitro lacquer finish on the neck profile has been stripped to the bare maple and then sealed with a smooth satin finish, similar to Music Man’s gunstock oil and wax blend for a silky, effortless feel.

The original Fender-branded G&G Deluxe brown tolex hardshell case is included.
