Up for sale, a 2006 Fender American Vintage '62 Jazzmaster in exceptional condition, upgraded with Lollar pickups and a Mastery M1 bridge. 100% original save for the upgrades (original parts also included), this Jazzmaster features a custom color Surf Green nitro lacquer gloss finish and comes complete with the original G&G hardshell case.
This guitar has a clear, balanced acoustic voice, with one of Fender's most desirable and uncommon custom colors. The boutique hand-wound Lollar pickups have staggered alnico pole pieces for superb string-to-string balance, offering the tonal breadth and detail of a vintage Jazzmaster single coil and a particularly glassy, shimmering treble character. Each position on the three-way pickup selector is distinct and vital, with additional warm and wooly tonalities when switched to the Rhythm Circuit on the guitar's lower body horn. The guitar weighs 8lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, with fresh 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with moderate shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .825" deep at the 1st fret and .900" at the 12th. The guitar conforms to traditional Fender specs with a 7 1/4" fretboard radius, 1.650" nut width, and full 25 1/2" scale. The slab rosewood fretboard retains the stock slender fretwire which has good meat and well-rounded crowns, showing light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-7. The guitar plays easily in every register, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. The headstock boasts a Pre-CBS-style "spaghetti" Jazzmaster logo, as well as Kluson-style tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The neck heel retains the original date stamp from June 23rd, 2006, with additional date stamps and factory markings in the neck pocket.
The alder body has a vibrant gloss Surf Green nitro lacquer finish accented by a mint green pickguard and clean chrome hardware. Electronically, everything works as it should, with the upgraded Lollar pickups wired to a three-way pickup selector, Volume and Tone knobs, and the "Rhythm Circuit" with on/off selector and Volume and Tone rollers. The vibrato has a smooth and responsive feel, working in concert with the upgraded Mastery M1 bridge.
Cosmetic wear includes one finish chip on the lower bout treble side edge, a few minor marks and light finish scratches on the body as a whole, and a tiny bit of finish checking at the edges of the neck pocket. The gloss nitro lacquer on the neck profile is notably smooth.
The original brown tolex G&G hardshell case with gold plush interior is included, along the original pickup pair, bridge, and bridge cover.
