Up for sale, a 2006 Fender American Series FSR Chambered Mahogany Telecaster in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This long ago discontinued Factory Special Run model boasts a gloss Crimson Red Transparent finish over the mahogany body, with a maple neck and thick slab 22 fret rosewood fingerboard. Acoustically the guitar delivers a unique snap and barking cut, and you can really hear the chambering and more resonant natural quality of the body. Loaded with the stock pair of American Standard Tele pickups, the guitar has plenty of sparkling twang and bell-like snap, with the increased warmth and sonic richness of the tonewoods. Featherweight at 6lbs 14oz, we've had this Tele professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action, accurate intonation, and 11-49 strings.
The maple neck has a "Modern C" profile carve, a medium depth shape with moderate shoulder and lightly rolled edges on the particularly thick slab fretboard, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret and .875" at the 12th. The fretboard features abalone dot inlay and a modern 9 1/2" radius, with flawless medium jumbo fretwire. The guitar plays easily up the straight neck with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod and 25 1/2" scale length. The nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width, and the unique gloss black-finished headstock face features a metallic Fender logo. The original Schaller-made and Fender-branded tuning machines turn very smoothly and hold pitch well.
The stock electronics function as intended, with a three-way pickup selector switch and Master Volume and Tone knobs governing the American Standard pickup pair. The chrome hardware is positively gleaming, and cosmetic wear on the Crimson Red Transparent gloss finish is mostly relegated to the back, with a few scattered small dings and scuffs, as well as light pick scuffing across the guard. The neck profile has a clean silky smooth semi-gloss finish.
A black tolex hardshell case is included.
