Up for sale, a 2006 ESP USA Signature Series George Lynch Skulls & Snakes electric guitar in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag. While the Skulls & Snakes model is arguably the most ubiquitous of George Lynch's signature ESP collaborations, this particular guitar is an excruciatingly rare premium iteration, made in the USA by ESP as part of their signature series, not to be confused with the more commonly seen Japanese-made versions. This USA-made Signature Series features a solid alder body, maple neck, and thick slab 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. The original Seymour Duncan pickup pair includes a Hot Rails in the neck position, paired with Lynch's signature Screamin’ Demon at the bridge. The Hot Rails uses a strong ceramic magnet and overwound coils to deliver powerful, well-balanced humbucker tones. Cleans are fat and warm, lending a thick, fluid feel to solos, and the dual blade construction offers the ultimate string coverage, especially for notes that are bent on the highest frets. The Screamin’ Demon delivers the articulate airiness of an old-school PAF, but with more growl and sizzle. Designed with slightly overwound coils paired with an alnico bar magnet and mix of pole pieces that includes one row of standard adjustable slugs and one row of shorter Allen head poles, the humbucker offers a big, open tone, with a treble emphasis that keeps your pick attack articulate at any distortion level. This ESP weighs 7lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, spot-on intonation, and fast action. The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile with modest shoulder and rolled fretboard edges, measuring .835” deep at the 1st fret and .890” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard is a dark and tight-grained cut with Skull and Swords inlay and pristine stock jumbo fretwire. The guitar plays effortlessly in all registers up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted truss rod and a flat 14“ fretboard radius. The scale length is 25 1/2”, and the locking nut measures 1 5/8“ in width. The headstock features black ESP-branded tuners with bleeding skull buttons that turn smoothly. This iteration of the Skull & Snakes model predates Lynch's signature on the headstock, and the back of the headstock notes the Signature Series status and USA-made provenance. In fact, we've never seen these unique skull tuner buttons on another Lynch model, and they're just too cool!On the body, the electronics function flawlessly, with a push/pull Master Volume control that selects between the neck and bridge pickups. The Floyd Rose-style tremolo is quick and fluid for dynamic dives with optimal pitch stability, complete with the original arm. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Skulls & Snakes-finished body is limited to light scuffs in the pick path and a few faint marks, mostly relegated to the back of the body. The neck profile sports a pristine smooth satin finish. The original ESP-branded gigbag is included.
