Up for sale, a 2006 Epiphone Elitist 1965 Casino in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A discontinued upscale model produced in Japan at the Terada factory and loaded with a pair of Gibson USA P-90 pickups, this Casino has been augmented to resemble John Lennon’s legendary ‘65 “Revolution” Casino with a small black switch surround and “E” Epsilon truss rod cover.
Lightweight at 6lbs 8oz, the thinline fully hollow maple body has an acoustic tone that’s both articulate and smooth, with a lively, woody cut. The Gibson P-90 pickups are wound to vintage spec with plenty of midrange bark and a glassy, percussive quality. Highly responsive to picking dynamics, this Casino excels at detailed cleans and overdriven bark, offering a very faithful analog for genuine 1960s examples. This Elitist 1965 Casino benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Mahogany
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .835” 1st fret, .960” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, parallelogram inlay
-Frets: Medium jumbo, faint wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-5
-Scale Length: 24 3/4”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm), bone
-Headstock: “E” Epsilon truss rod cover (replacement), Elitist decal
-Tuners: Grover Rotomatics
-Serialization: T6-prefix (2006)
Body Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Pickups: P-90 x2
-Controls: Volume x2, Tone x2, Three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: ABR-1 bridge, trapeze tailpiece, “dogear” pickup covers
-Plastics: Gold reflector cap knobs, raised pickguard with “E” epsilon badge, small switch surround (added)
-Label: “Guaranteed Elitist,” bass-side f hole
The gloss Natural finish highlights subtle curly figuring in the maple on the top and back at the lower bout, with just a few faint scratches in the clear coat. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original hardshell case is included.
