Up for sale, a 2006 Collings D1A, near-mint and complete with the original case and factory paperwork. One of the premier acoustic builders of the modern era, Collings instruments exude quality, passion, and precise craftsmanship in every aspect of their construction. The D1A is Collings' take on a late 1930s Martin D-18, featuring an Adirondack spruce top with Pre-War-style scalloped X-bracing (no tongue brace), a Honduran mahogany neck, compound 14”-26” fretboard radius, 1 11/16" wide bone nut, and high gloss nitro lacquer finish.

All woods are acquired, acclimated, and hand-selected by the master luthiers at Collings, and each component is picked with the "whole tonality of the end instrument in mind." Weighing 4lbs 8oz, this D1A is both smooth and punchy, with a warm harmonic bloom in the midrange when notes ring out. The wound strings have an ideal blend of detail and rich growl, very responsive to picking dynamics, offering power and projection. The treble response is crisp and balanced, and the voicing is sympathetic both to fingerstyle playing and picking. This D1A benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 13-55 bronze strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.
